This year was one of meaningful growth and innovation. Trusted by over 30,000 veterinarians, Mixlab nearly doubled the number of prescribers, animal owners, and prescriptions filled. That growth translated directly into impact:

#1. Expanded Reliable Veterinary Pharmacy Access Nationwide
In 2025, we expanded Mixlab’s physical footprint to better support veterinarians across the country. Early in the year, we opened our fifth veterinary compounding pharmacy lab in Wisconsin through the acquisition of The Pet Apothecary, strengthening our Midwest presence.
Operating multiple labs allows us to:
- Ship faster by fulfilling orders closer to patients
- Maintain continuity of care through redundancy and backup capacity
- Reduce risk from regional shipping disruptions
- Deliver industry-leading delivery speeds and on-time rates
As a result, Wisconsin and Ohio entered our top 10 shipping states for the first time in 2025.

#2. Expanded Catalog For More Species and Clinical Needs
Veterinary medicine isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is Mixlab.
In 2025, Mixlab’s catalog grew to 25,000+ unique products, helping support over 140,000 animals across 224 species. From dogs and cats to horses, birds, and exotics, our goal is to give veterinarians the flexibility to prescribe exactly what each patient needs.
We continued expanding our veterinary compounding pharmacy offerings:

In 2025, we made major investments in improving the prescribing experience, designed to reduce clicks, prevent errors, and save time. With up to a minute saved per prescription, Mixlab returned nearly a full year’s combined time savings to veterinarians through easier prescribing and streamlined workflows. In fact, eMix utilization increased to 75% up from 50% last year.
Key eMix updates included:

- A redesigned homepage with clearer navigation
- Mobile responsiveness for prescribing anywhere
- AI-powered enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
With eMix, veterinarians can:

- Review and approve client requests with ease
- Track orders in real time
- Use dedicated workflows for office-use orders (where applicable)
- Stay informed on new products, updates, and clinical offerings
We also integrated with Vetsource and Vetcove in 2025, expanding access to Mixlab across both home delivery and in-clinic workflows. These integrations allow veterinarians to prescribe through the platforms they already use, reducing friction and making access to veterinary compounding pharmacy services easier without changing how they practice.
#4 Enhanced Prescription Management Solutions for Owners
In 2025, we enhanced the animal owner experience, while keeping veterinarians firmly at the center of care.
Through updates to the Mixlab Owner Portal, pet parents can now:
- Browse approved medication options
- Request new prescriptions (which flow directly into eMix for approval)
- Manage refills and autorefill preferences
- Track orders in real time
- View prescription history
Not only does the Owner Portal deliver convenience, it improves compliance as most of Mixlab’s patients are on medication for a chronic illness where maintaining consistency is critical. Just under half of all eligible scripts were enrolled in autorefill in 2025.
